For this post, I considered my dissertation research interests that I will being embarking upon. I will Identify one categorical/nominal scale independent variable (IV) which will be age group that will have more than 2 categories. The categories will include category one which will include people from the ages of 18 years old to 33 years old, category two will consist of 34 years old to 49 years old, and category three will consist of 50 years old to 65 years old. There will be three dependent variables (DVs) that are measured on continuous scales. These will include work engagement from six months to five years on the job, six years to 10 years, and 11 plus years. I thought of DV measures that probably are moderately correlated with each other because they are measuring different components of the same or similar concepts (e.g., three different measures of workplace engagement). There are MANOVAs that can be either one-way of factorial (Grand Canyon, 2015). A one-way MANOVA would provide information on the one IV that consists of two or more groups in reference to the comparison of each other of those two or more groups to see if there were any differences (Grand Canyon, 2015). If I got significant results in the multivariate effects of the MANOVA I would follow it with an analysis to see if there was a relationship amongst the (IV’s) and the (DVs) (Grand Canyon, 2015). This would be significant to my research because it would mean that the null hypothesis was rejected and that there was a correlation amongst Christian identity and workplace engagement (Grand Canyon, 2015).
