i will post it after you accepted This module provides a basic introduction to two important concepts– copyright and fair use. Fair use is especially important in education and among digital content creators. For this assignment, read the linked article and watch the short video, then respond to the questions below.

Read: Copyright and Fair Use Guidelines (Links to an external site.)

Then watch:

In your own words, answer the following questions:

1. What is copyright?

2. What makes something eligible for copyright protection?

3. What is meant by “public domain?”

4. How does something enter public domain?

5. What is meant by the term “fair use”? Give an example of a situation that could be considered fair use.

Your topic submission should be formatted with standard margins, Times New Roman 12 point font, and double spaced. Response should be in paragraph form and at least 100 words.

First, watch the video below from the United States Patent and Trademark office.

Based on the concepts covered in the video, use the text submission box to submit a list of 5 things you’ve come in contact with in the last week that you think are copyrighted, and 5 things you’ve come in contact with that you think are trademarked. “Things” is purposely broad here. Consider clothing you’ve worn, things you’ve read, things you’ve watched, etc. Make sure it’s clear from your list which 5 things you think fall into which category. It’s not necessary for your response to be 100 words or more.

Creative Commons defines itself as “a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a globally-accessible public commons of knowledge and culture. We make it easier for people to share their creative and academic work, as well as to access and build upon the work of others. By helping people and organizations share knowledge and creativity, we aim to build a more equitable, accessible, and innovative world.” (“What we do,” https://creativecommons.org/about/ (Links to an external site.))

Explore Creative Commons. Take a few minutes to watch the video on this page: https://creativecommons.org/about/videos/a-shared-culture/ (Links to an external site.) and then briefly skim through the FAQ page here: https://creativecommons.org/faq/ (Links to an external site.). There’s a lot of information on the FAQ page, so don’t worry – it won’t be on the quiz, but you will find it useful in completing this assignment.

Using the Creative Commons search (https://creativecommons.org/use-remix/ (Links to an external site.)) or any other Creative Commons search engine you can find, select one example of a Creative Commons-licensed work that you would have the rights to use. In your document, include the following:

  1. A direct link to the work
  2. Either a link to the specific Creative Commons license applied to the work (see the https://creativecommons.org/use-remix/ (Links to an external site.) page for an example and more resources) or a statement of the what the license is in specific Creative Commons language (for example, you could either link https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/ (Links to an external site.) or put CC BY-SA 2.0).
  3. A short explanation of what you would be able to do with this work (copy, remix, change, share, etc.) and what is required of you if you use it.

I want u to use evidence that will you use it in the essay all are related to each other.

For this assignment, you will submit an annotated bibliography of sources you think you might use in your Evidence-Based Paper as well as a working thesis statement (visit this site (Links to an external site.) for assistance with writing a thesis statement). These sources should largely consist of sources from your Reading List, although you may use some different sources. You will need to add on at least one source that includes empirical/numerical data if you have not already found one. You may find empirical/numerical data from http://www.pewresearch.org/ (Links to an external site.).

Your assignment must be formatted as an APA-style annotated bibliography (APA style reference list with annotations). You must turn in your list with an APA-style cover page. As with all APA-style documents, your annotated bibliography should be in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.

Source requirements: Your annotated bibliography must include at least 8 sources.

  • At least 4 sources must be scholarly, peer-reviewed articles.
  • At least 1 source must include empirical/numerical data, such as from Pew Research Center (Links to an external site.)
  • The remaining sources must be credible popular sources (magazines, newspapers, websites) or books.
  • Sources should represent multiple perspectives on your topic.

Annotation requirements: Each of your 8 sources must be annotated. An annotation is not the same as an abstract. Your annotation for each source should be at least 6 sentences long. Each annotation should contain:

  • a brief summary of the source’s argument in your own words
  • an evaluation of the source’s authority and evidence
  • an explanation of what you learned about your topic from this source
  • a description of how you think you will integrate this source into your paper
    • For example, what purpose will it serve for your argument? What point will it support or refute?
  • an articulation of how this source relates to your other sources
    • For example, does it provide a different perspective? Does it agree or disagree with your other sources? Does it back up another source’s claims? Be specific with your responses.

Assignment rationale: The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate that you are reading and synthesizing the sources you including on your Reading List for Evidence Paper, and beginning to think about how you might structure your argument in your paper. Annotated bibliographies are typically where the real critical thinking work of writing a research paper is done. After you have completed an annotated bibliography, it is much easier to start drafting a paper than if you had not systematically summarized, evaluated, and analyzed connections between each of your sources. An annotated bibliography also helps to reveal gaps in your research, where you might need to go back and find answers to your remaining questions. This is not just a perfunctory step in the research process! Spending time reading and engaging with each of your sources is critical to writing an effective research paper.
