Introduction
As a teacher, you are consistently reflecting on your own practice and trying to determine ways to improve outcomes for your students. You also look for ways to inform your practice—through professional development workshops, through collaborating with PLCs, and through reading about instructional practice. However, one of the most powerful ways to learn about the effectiveness of your instructional practice is through action research—investigating the outcomes of instructional interventions through cycles of planning, conducting the intervention, observing the effects, and reflecting on practice. In this assessment you will examine the 5 Ws (what, who, when, where, why) of your action plan design and consider what is causing you disequilibrium in regard to conducting action research. In other words, what do you know, and about which aspects of action research are you unsure?
