First, click on the link below to view a video clip and pay particular attention to the action that takes place in the scene at the bookcase:

Then, after carefully viewing the bookcase scene, answer the following questions:

1. In the bookcase scene, what behaviors do you observe, and what kind of learning is taking place?

2. Are you observing “insight learning” or “trial and error” learning in this scene? Is there evidence of both? Why or Why not?

3. Identify the reinforcers (positive and negative) and the behaviors that they are affecting in the scene.

Hint for success: Be sure that you focus on what behaviors are changing in the bookcase scene before considering what is reinforcing the change in each behavior.
