Thread: Each week during this course you will participate in group-work. Group work in an on-line environment builds a sense of community and helps eliminate isolation among students. Learning from peers is also an effective way to learn course material. For this post, read the article “How do students define their roles and responsibilities in online learning group projects?” by Williams et al., (2011). Examine the six roles identified by the authors (leader, wannabe, spoiler, agreeable enabler, coat-tails, and supportive worker), then pick one that you perceive to be a positive role and one that appears to be a negative role. Discuss how you would deal with each type of member’s role from a Christian perspective. Remember, you only choose one positive role and one negative role to discuss. Include relevant Bible verses to support your position. Required word count (200-400 words). Replies: Choose two peers’ posts that most resonates with you. Either politely agree or disagree with a classmates’ thread and write a reply. Support your arguments with biblical scripture and logic. Required word count (100- 200 words). Submit your thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of Module/Week 1 and submit your replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the same module/week.
