Create a fact sheet for your work colleagues explaining copyright infringement and the internet. The fact sheet should function as a “quick reference guide” or “job aid” that your colleagues can refer to when they have questions regarding the use of copyrighted material on the internet.
The fact sheet should include the following:
- A description, in your own words, of what copyright is, what it protects, and how it applies to the use of material found on the internet.
- An explanation of how the law applies to the material found on the internet
- A list of five to seven best practices that professional communicators should adhere to in order to avoid potential copyright infringement. Base your suggestions on the professional codes of ethics listed in Module Two. What guidelines do they offer for the ethical use of others’ work?
