As a Planning Associate for your Community Development Department, you have been asked to develop an asset-based community development (ABCD) plan. Your 2-3 three-page plan needs to describe how ABCD works. This plan should contain guiding principles of ABCD and available assets located in your community. Your plan should include a description of each guiding principle and how it can be applied in the community. This plan will be graded based upon your ability to relate any of the readings to your professional practice or to any of your “real world” experiences outside of work. Use your life experiences and occupational backgrounds to frame your approach to any idea, theme, or theory noted by any of the authors.
